Built for keeping the pad supplied
Frac sand hauling is a supply chain with a clock on it. A frac crew burns through sand around the clock, so the job is keeping the pad supplied without stacking trucks in line at the mine or the transload. Every truck runs the same few lanes many times a day, which makes small gains in each turn add up fast.
What makes frac sand dispatch hard
- Continuous demand. The pad needs steady delivery, not bursts, across day and night crews.
- Lines at the mine and the transload. Load times change through the day, and a wrong arrival time costs a turn.
- Long empty returns. Every trip back to the mine is deadhead unless the next pickup is planned around it.
- Pads that move. When the frac crew moves, the whole lane set changes.
- Hours of service on repetitive turns. Drivers run out of clock mid-route if the last turn isn't checked.
How Nivio plans frac sand loads
Nivio's Proprietary Algorithm plans the whole fleet's turns at once. It plans mine and transload congestion by time of day, holds every delivery inside the pad's window, spreads work evenly across drivers and crews, and never assigns a turn a driver can't legally finish. Day and night crews can be planned as separate shifts that hand over end positions. The dispatcher reviews the plan, locks what is promised, and releases it in under 30 minutes.
That is route optimization built for bulk work: single pickup to single drop, load to load, across the whole fleet at once. It is not multi-stop delivery routing, and it doesn't need to be.
$599K annual impact on a 75-truck sand fleet in fuel and maintenance — 47.84% loaded mile, up from 43.25%.
A companion to your dispatch software
Nivio Dispatch doesn't replace the dispatch software, ticketing or TMS your sand operation runs on. It is the dispatch planning layer on top: it decides the best plan, and your system dispatches it.
Loads and drivers come in from the spreadsheet you already keep, by hand, or from your TMS over the API. Driver clocks and positions can come from Samsara, Geotab or Motive; McLeod and TMW connect on request. When the plan is approved it goes back out as an export or as assignments pushed to your TMS, so drivers are dispatched from the system they always were.
Start with one day
No integration is needed to see the number. Send one day of your loads and drivers on our template; we solve the same day and hand back the comparison: total miles, deadhead, loaded percentage and what the gap is worth over a year. After that, the first 14 days are free on your own loads and drivers. See also Dispatch Scheduling for Bulk Fleets for day and night crews.
See your fleet's plan in under 30 minutes
Send us one day of your loads and drivers. We solve the same day and show you the gap against the plan your team ran.

Is Nivio frac sand dispatch software?
No. Nivio Dispatch is dispatch planning software. It works alongside the dispatch software or TMS you already run: it builds tomorrow's plan for your sand fleet, and the plan goes back to your system for dispatch.
Can Nivio plan day and night crews?
Yes. You can plan by shift, by area or by commodity. The night crew's end positions become the day crew's start positions.
Does Nivio account for lines at the mine?
Yes. Location congestion is planned by time of day, so a mine or transload that backs up in the morning is treated as a slower stop then.
