Built for short turns and many of them
Aggregate hauling is many short turns: quarry or pit to job site and back, several times a day per truck, often to several sites at once. Asphalt adds a plant schedule and a paving crew that can't wait. The difference between a good and an average plan is a turn or two per truck per day, across the whole fleet.
What makes aggregate dispatch hard
- Many sites, many turns. Each truck can run five or more loads a day, and the order decides the empty miles.
- Quarry and plant hours. Scale houses and plants open and close on their own schedules.
- Job site windows. Paving and pour schedules set hard delivery times.
- Equipment. End dumps, belly dumps and asphalt trailers aren't interchangeable.
- Balance. Short-turn work runs some drivers ragged while others sit, unless it is evened out.
How Nivio plans aggregate loads
Nivio's Proprietary Algorithm chains turns across the whole fleet, so each drop is near the next pickup and empty returns are as short as the map allows. It keeps every load inside the site's window and the quarry's or plant's hours, matches equipment before lanes, balances loads and hours across drivers, and keeps everyone inside their hours of service. The dispatcher reviews the plan on a map, swaps what they know better, and releases it in under 30 minutes.
That is route optimization built for bulk work: single pickup to single drop, load to load, across the whole fleet at once. It is not multi-stop delivery routing, and it doesn't need to be.
$599K annual impact on a 75-truck sand fleet in fuel and maintenance — 47.84% loaded mile, up from 43.25%.
A companion to your dump truck dispatch software
Nivio Dispatch isn't dump truck dispatch software or aggregate hauling software, and it doesn't replace either. Those systems take orders, track tickets and bill. Nivio is the dispatch planning layer on top: it decides the best plan for them to run.
Loads and drivers come in from the spreadsheet you already keep, by hand, or from your TMS over the API. Driver clocks and positions can come from Samsara, Geotab or Motive; McLeod and TMW connect on request. When the plan is approved it goes back out as an export or as assignments pushed to your TMS, so drivers are dispatched from the system they always were.
Start with one day
No integration is needed to see the number. Send one day of your loads and drivers on our template; we solve the same day and hand back the comparison: total miles, deadhead, loaded percentage and what the gap is worth over a year. After that, the first 14 days are free on your own loads and drivers. For the planning method behind it, see How to Dispatch Trucks.
See your fleet's plan in under 30 minutes
Send us one day of your loads and drivers. We solve the same day and show you the gap against the plan your team ran.

Is Nivio dump truck dispatch software?
No. Nivio Dispatch is dispatch planning software. It works alongside the dump truck dispatch software, aggregate hauling software or TMS you already run: it builds tomorrow's plan, and the plan goes back to your system for dispatch.
Can Nivio plan several job sites at once?
Yes. Every load carries its own pickup, delivery and window, and the whole fleet is planned at once across all sites.
Does Nivio balance work across drivers?
Yes. Driver shift balance is one of the rules the algorithm weighs, so two drivers on the same day finish with evened-out hours instead of one being run to the limit.
